Gem in new friends colony
Fantastic home stay experience . What a wonderful gem located in new friends colony. We feel as though we have been welcomed into the family. The hospitality of our host is unmatched. Our room was perfect and the food is delicious. Kumar has been extremely helpful with our daily itinerary and recommendations. The suggestions provided for restaurants and site seeing have been truly enjoyable. The local "inside information" is refreshing. We feel like we are not questioning the motives of our hosts as we have in hotel/guest houses through out our trip. Did we mention that the food is delicious. Anikasnest will no doubt be remembered fondly when we think about our trip in India. We would stay here again and suggest it to everyone. We now have new friends in delhi => Thank you so much for having us.
Sincerely

Thank you very much !
We really enjoyed our stay here, what a good decision we made staying here instead of a hotel.
Here we have had good food, great tips and a unique attention from our hosts.
No doubt about where to stay when coming to delhi again.
Lea & Jacob, Denmark
Just got back from a two weeks holiday to Rajasthan last week.
The first place we stayed was Anikas Nest b&b. The apartment is located in New Friends Colony, which is a nice residential area. To me, it is like a home away home, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Delhi.
Anika and Kumar have two extra rooms while their two sons have married. They are “amateur” but I see the sweetness of that. They are not commercial at all like some of the b&b host. Kumar is very friendly and helpful, and Anika is very sociable and fashionable, they made a good team. We found a lot of things to talk about. Staying with them, you can choose to have your own privacy or to socialize, or to have play with their doggie Whisky. There is a T.V. in your room (with sky channels) I enjoyed watching the Indian TV and dancing. At times, Shambo, Kumar’s servant would offer you drinks, I love his chai because I took no sugar. There’s no need to worry about extras on "mini-bar", also that they use purified water for drinking and cooking.
Every early morning at 4 or 5 you can hear the “Muslim prayer” I think they use microphone, and also the singing of the birds (crow?). It reminded me “This is India!”
I liked their balcony where you could sit outside and watch people go by, or enjoy a drinking for sunset.
For breakfast, again it was different every morning, Anika would sit together and have a chat with you, you can tell her what you prefer, sometimes she would give you Indian breakfast and explain to you. We did want to stay for dinner one night but we ate too much at the Sunday buffet lunch at The Imperial Hotel (Must go!). Anika was relaxed about it , she said it’s all up to us if we would like it later or even not to have it. The most important was to listen to our body. So we miss out on the night. However, Shambo gave us plenty of snacks like potato chips and cookies to swipe the next day. We enjoyed chatting, snacking and drinking together.
Kumar has arranged a driver for us through unique india tour that cost Rs 1,500, parking extra. Kumar and Anika were kindly tailored us the itinerary and also advised us good places for shopping which was excellent because that’s exactly the kind of thing and the quality we wanted, save us time from wondering around. Also we had a good massage at the Salon which is one floor lower to where they are. The price was reasonable (50 mins body massage: Rs 400 for coconut oil/ Rs500 for olive oil, tax and tips extra)
I had a good experience there, would love to stay again! They even packed us lunch the morning we left. Kumar also invite us to call again instead of waiting a few hours at the airport on the way back home, he said he would take us back to the airport in his car, which was great. The facts that he greets us as guests and we left as friends are valuable. I’ll say It's not where I would go if I were trying to have a “treat me like a queen" experience. I would go to a luxurious hotel for that. But for staying somewhere comfortable as home with a friend or relatives, I liked it. In fact, I think one good idea would be to stay at one of those fancy places for a couple of nights and then spend some of your nights to a place like Kumar’s home. ... Grace, New Zealand. After one week in Rajasthan I'm back at Kumar and Anika's place. This is where I started my stay in India. I feel like coming back to caring friends. Friends who would go out of their way to do me a favour and make me feel at home - something anyone travelling alone appreciates particularly. Whenever I come back I will at least come and see you. ... Christine Friedmann, Zurich. December 2006.

Our hosts family were so welcoming to us and introduced us to so many things we would otherwise have missed. We were embraced by their whole household and we found the accommodation to be very clean and comfortable. We were treated to wonderful home cooked Indian food and we can have nothing but praise for the way in which we have been looked after.
